Sur une vidéo tournée avec un téléphone portable et qui se termine tragiquement, Marziyeh Rezaei, une jeune femme, s'adresse à l'actrice Maedeh Erteghaei et lui demande de transmettre un message à sa consoeur Behnaz Jafari, une grande vedette. Marziyeh, aspirante comédienne, se dit désespérée par sa famille conservatrice et décide d'en finir avec la vie. Alors qu'elle est conduite en voiture vers le village de la jeune femme par le réalisateur Jafar Panahi, Maedeh Erteghaei, qui visionne la vidéo, se pose des questions sur son authenticité.
